Karen Balerna RN, BSN is the Founder and Clinical Director of the private advocacy firm, Nurse Advocate Partners,LLC.
She holds the designation of Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) and has received a Dementia Specialist Certificate from The University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health.
Karen knows what your going through because she went through it herself.
The inspiration for founding Nurse Advocate Partners came when Karen accompanied her father to various doctors' appointments during a serious illness. She realized the challenges people face in making healthcare decisions, often without fully understanding the implications. Recognizing the importance of informed decision-making, Karen established her advocacy firm.
As a nurse, she possesses the ability to comprehend medical terminology and translate it into easily understandable terms. Karen and her team assists individuals in weighing the pros and cons of treatment options, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health.
With over 30 years of experience as a nurse, Karen has consistently advocated for her patients and their families.
She received the Dementia Dialogues ® Dementia Specialist Certificate, further enhancing her expertise in addressing the unique needs of individuals with dementia.
Karen Balerna is an active member of professional organizations such as The Alliance for Professional Health Advocates and the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants. Through her commitment to advocacy and healthcare expertise, Karen strives to support individuals in navigating the complexities of the healthcare system and making decisions that align with their best interests.
